Mario Nanni’s lectio magistralis explaining architects and designers how to conceive light will take place at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari
Today we live in a world that seeks a false specialization, not knowledge. Everything becomes appearance and superficiality. On the contrary, the vocation is to have one’s passion as a profession. Profession and passion, knowledge and soul, intelligence and heart.
The lectio magistralis titled ‘Per concepire la tua luce‘ by Mario Nanni, lighting designer and founder of the Viabizzuno lighting design brand, will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 4.00 pm, on the stage of Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.
Designed for architects, engineers and design professionals, it will focus on Nanni’s professional experience and the need for a multidisciplinary culture of light. The central theme of the lecture is the culture that makes different arts intersect, because, according to the lighting philosopher, “light studies, learns, connects and enlightens all the knowledge of mankind. Light puts itself at the service of space, integrates, becomes a building material, an invisible instrument able to move and communicate, to unite in a strong bond those who design it, those who build it and those who live in it.”
Among his many lighting design projects, we cannot forget Michelangelo’s Moses in the basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli and the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, in 2015, in Rome, Teatro alla Scala in 2009, up to the recent scenographic lighting of the Mondadori building in 2017, forty years after its realization, as a tribute to Oscar Nyemeyer.
