Scandola Mobili updates the Maestrale collection with the trendy carbon black kitchen, wardrobes and open cabins
Scandola Mobili is a master in the manufacturing of solid wood characterized by an absolutely contemporary design. Therefore, the warmth of the natural material is preserved but it is also updated in shapes and uses. At the Salone del Mobile 2018, the Maestrale collection, designed for both the living and the sleeping area, will be presented with new wardrobes and a new kitchen (below) in solid fir, with vertically slatted cabinet doors, like the previous version, but in the new Carbon finish. The current trend, both in fashion and interior design, can indeed be summarized by the expression ‘black is back’.
The Maestrale kitchen, in this corner composition, includes base units and the exhaust hood (which also serves as a big shelf), and, on one side, columnswith two mid-height ovens and a built-in fridge. Below, a detail showing the elegant mix of fir in the Carbon finish and Emperador marble for the top and the full-height panel.
The material and formal peculiarities of the Maestrale kitchen can be appreciated, by contrast, in the brushed Chalk white version with top in Hanex, a new material composed of methyl methacrylate and mineral rock (below), more usual than the latest dark version, but with as much personality. The Verona-based company is also famous for its ability to customize its models to meet its customers’ needs.
The same personality in expressing its own design style, combined with an almost artisanal flexibility, is also apparent in the latest Maestrale wardrobesin solid fir, with natural lacquers finishes (below) available with either paneled or framed hinged doors, sliding doors and open cabins. These free-standing modular systems are available in different standard sizes, but it is also possible to realize tailor-made cabinets.
