Bi2 Wall by Olimpia Splendid receives the award in the Household Products category for its innovative technology and design
The ultraslim hydronic reversible fan coil unit Bi2 Wall, designed by Milan-based studio Ercoli + Garlandini,
was chosen among a thousand entries because of its innovative technological characteristics and its high quality design by the panel of the Good Design Awards, the international industrial design awards assigned in 2017 by the Chicago Athenaeum – Museum of Architecture and Design, as usual.
Brescia-based Olimpia Splendid is a leading company in the field of cooling, heating, air-treatment, and hydronic systems and with Bi2 Wall it adds a high-tech element that discreetly integrates both into residential and working contexts: an authentic example of high-end Italian production.
Bi2 Wall is designed to cool, dehumidify, heat and filter air, concentrating all these functions in a depth of just 12.9 cm. Depending on one’s needs, it is possible to have it either wall-mounted in a high position or as a floor-standing console. Available in three different sizes, Bi2 Wall features a cross-flow fan and a DC motor that ensures continuous air flow regulation and fan speed modulation allowing for minimum energy consumption, noiseless operation and perfect air distribution. The wide flap ensures an ideal air distribution, while the back-lit display offers a cutting-edge interface. The remote control makes it possible to control all functions such as regulating set-point temperature, setting the timer and selecting both mode and ventilation program.
Bi2 Wall, which now forms part of the permanent collection of the Chicago Museum, is the result of the perfect integration between advanced technologies, innovative engineering solutions and design.
