The works of art enhance the feelings, the impulses and dreams of those who created them.

“El Ultimo Cielo”, a photographic installation on Cuba held at the Milan’s Triennale (until June, 4th), reflects the “dream” done by the architect and designer Giulio Ceppi, professor at the Polytechnic of Milan, as well as founder of Total Tool.

The idea was conceived during a trip to Cuba a few years ago, Giulio Ceppi felt the deep “sense of perpetual nostalgia” which envelops the Island, countering it with the desire to be able to end its isolation.

El Último Cielo is his response, the first project which promotes cultural exchange on design between Cuba and Italy, supported by the Polytechnic of Milan and Triennale. The installation features 30 photographs on 4.5×6 film taken by Giulio Ceppi in La Habana Vieja, mounted in original Cuban cigar boxes.

Proceeds from the pieces, which will be sold at an online benefit auction hosted by Finarte (from 5 to 29 June), will allow three young Cuban designers to travel from Havana to Milan and actively participate in the first  ITALIA /CUBA training and design exchange, between the Polytechnic University of Milano and Cuba’s Instituto Superior de Diseño.
