INAUGURATED THE COCOON MALDIVES, THE FIRST DESIGN HOTEL IN THE BREATHTAKING INDIAN OCEAN

The stunning island of Ookolhufinolhu is located in Lhaviyani atoll, a 30-minute seaplane ride from Ibrahim Nasir international airport. Here is nestled the newlyopened exclusive luxury resort Cocoon Maldives.

Based on a project developed by LAGO, a leading brand manufacturing top-quality furniture, and Azemar, a tour operator specialized in the Indian Ocean, the Cocoon Maldives is a tourist facility of excellence, comprising 150 accommodations including rooms, suites and small family villas, alongside a presidential suite. In developing the various environments, the company has dramatically reduced the impact of built parts on the environments, preserving the unspoiled nature surrounding the facility and even enhancing it. The hotel’s spaces seem to blend with the white sand-field, the transparent sea of the lagoon, and the luxuriant vegetation of the island. The interior design project has been tailored by LAGO, preferring modern and minimalist furniture and warm and natural finishes such as the Wildwood, an old looking timber used in the rooms and the common areas, as well as hand-painted Sicilian majolicas.

When entering the resort, guests are welcomed in a lobby where, like in a magical forest or a dreamlike playground, flutter about 6 meters high hanging seesaws. Hence you access the Octopus, the main restaurant of the hotel, where are arranged two 20-meter long LAGO COMMUNITY TABLE – bringing together people of all cultural backgrounds thus becoming a unified social point of convergence for all interactions at Cocoon Maldives. Next to it is arranged a space devoted to showcooking.

Timeless materials and an overwhelming nature experience, without forgoing the latest technologies, thanks to the LAGO TALKING FURNITURE project that powers interaction with the furniture. Connecting to each guests’ Smartphone device through a wired chip in the furniture, to activate a direct interaction with the resort, to learn about themed evenings or indeed to share images and reviews of the experience.

At the Cocoon Maldives, the tourist offer is actually rich and multifaceted, including three restaurants, a diving center, a kids club and a Spa with stunning view.
