Hong Kong- based design firm CCD has transformed the typical corporate image of the business hotel into that of a recreational business resort with the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan.
Dubbed an “art hotel” by CCD, the firm, in partnership with experienced artists and fine craftsmen, has created a collection of original pieces inspired by the hotel’s geographic context, drawing from aboriginal weaving crafts, the crisscross pattern of fishing nets, rolling hills and the lychee flowers of the area.
By using an approach originally intended for designing a resort hotel, the characteristic corporate style of the Marriott has undergone a significant transformation, settling on a more understated look with elegant, clean lines that highlight the art. And with a special focus on nature, eco-friendliness and technology, all materials used in the hotel are guaranteed to be ecological, handmade, and unique.
