WTF Lamps by Levantin

Set 27, 2016 designdiffusion

Whereas the Suprematism movement of the early 1900s is characterized by 2D geometric forms such as circles, squares, lines and rectangles, Ukrainian studio Levantin Design’s KUBIS is a sculptural lighting collection that transfers Suprematist principles, combined with modern graphic design, to 3D, resulting in larger-than-life abstract sculptures.

Inspired by Kazimir Malevich’s 1916 painting “Suprematic Composition,” and inscribed with WTF, an overt shoutout to modern-day pop culture, these colorful lighting objects successfully connect ideas that are 100 years apart. Available in standing, table, and pendant formats.
