Of all the many design practices, interior architecture is still the prime field of exploration, study and reflection in terms of its direct impact on people’s everyday lives. Interior architecture has a particularly special remit: we all live in houses, and much of our life is spent inside these spaces.

Tomorrow Friday, April 2, ‘ROOMS. Novel Living Concepts’ will be inaugurated as a protagonist at the XXI Triennale International Exhibition – Palazzo dell’Arte, Milan,
2 April – 12 September 2016. Curator: Beppe Finessi – Layout: Gianni Filindeu – Graphics: Leonardo Sonnoli.

Visitors will enter and walk through a series of rooms, each designed by a different architect: Umberto Riva, Alessandro Mendini, Lazzarini e Pickering, Manolo De Giorgi, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, Andrea Anastasio, Fabio Novembre, Duilio Forte, Elisabetta Terragni, Carlo Ratti and Francesco Librizzi, who will illustrate their living concepts and philosophies.

Each of the authors will formulate their own room concepts and philosopher Francesco M. Cataluccio will select literary and philosophical reference texts for each project.

The Salone del Mobile.Milano was one of the first to take part in the project consolidating the front line role of FederlegnoArredo in the Italian home furnishing sector, and its championing of the Italian System, along with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Triennale di Milano and Confindustria.
