Feb 17, 2016 designdiffusion

The fusion of craftsmanship and passion is the hallmark of all Expormim furniture. Since its founding in 1960, Expormim has never stopped trusting the craftsmen who continue to transmit their knowledge from generation to generation. Their skills and know-how are undoubtedly our greatest secret to keep producing quality furniture, unique and exclusive. The enhancement of rattan, key element in the creative process of Expormim’s beautiful designer pieces, is largely responsible of the success of its collections, which counted with the collaboration of renowned architects. Over time, Expormim has specialized in the commercialization of furniture, both for indoor and outdoor spaces, and not only for the domestic sector, but also for hospitality home and abroad.

Let’s discover the novelties for 2016: new outdoor fabrics and a program of side tables.

  • A program of side tables called Grada, fruit of a new collaboration with the Barcelona-based studio Lievore Altherr Molina. “Grada” are extremely playful: they play with the size, the shape and the height, but also with the perspective. This set of coffee tables work either separately or together as it is possible to create multiple compositions through the gradation of different elements. Top quality marble tabletops rest upon a solid frame, made of welding and painted stainless steel, making the whole collection of side tables perfectly suitable for outdoors, but without excluding the possibility to be placed indoors.
  • Omega outdoor is a 3D fabric specifically developed by the Danish company Gabriel for Expormim, it’s based on optical illusion. The collection, a 3D mesh made of resistant polyester, will dress the main outdoor collections, such as the Plump sofa or the Senso and Twins armchairs, with bright colours like turquoise or paprika. 3D mesh is a polyester fabric widely used in the world of sports because of its resistance and also because it allows for optimal heat and moisture regulation. Besides these qualities it provides a soft adjustment and greater comfort to the user.
  • Although launched during the last edition of the Milan Furniture Fair, Mario Ruiz’s collection elegant indoor collection based on rattan and wood comprises the Huma rattan armchair, the Kotai solid wood tables, the Team modules and shelves and the Kiri side tables, combining rattan and noble materials such as marble. If there is one word that defines the new collection of Mario Ruiz for Expormim is “detail”. Small details in the design turn out to be a great collection that drinks once more from the sources of the tradition of craftsmanship.
